Taiwan Women In Digital Initiative (WIDI, Women In Digital Initiative)

It was founded on July 4, 2020, and officially completed the legal person registration procedure on December 24 of the same year.

This is our core development mission. According to this, we are committed to promoting reform initiatives, arousing the government and society to understand and face the issue of digital gender violence, make up for the omissions of current regulations, change the culture of misogyny, and empower crime victims. Encourage every woman or girl to be safe and equal in the digital environment!

So far, the members of the alliance have included scholars, experts and practitioners in the fields of gender/communication/law/social work/heart health/monitoring office/legislative yuan. I hope that the work of promoting reforms and initiatives in the future can arouse government agencies and the general public. Understanding and facing up to the issue of digital gender violence, making up for the omissions of current regulations, changing the culture of misogyny in the media and mainstream society, and empowering crime victims, so that every woman or girl can be safe and equal in the digital environment.
